I stayed in her room, obviously where she wanted me to be. I heard foot steps coming towards the door, and voices. Three, I think. The doorknob turns, and the door slowly creaks open. OhMyGod. This isn’t happening. I dozed off. I had to have. I started pinching myself, but I made sure it wasn’t noticeable. I guess I am awake. God. “Brit, I’d like you to meet my friends, Frank and Mikey.” “Hey.” Oh God. Frank Anthony Iero and Michael James Way are standing right in front of me. “I’ve heard a lot about you from other people. They called you a lot of names but I said that I don’t think it’s true. They did say that you’re obsessed with MCR and I didn’t doubt that. I’ve seen you wear MCR shirts on numerous occasions.” Frank uses big words. “Yeah, I am obsessed.” “I like Hula-Hoops.” “Mikey, that’s really irrelevant.” He used more big words. I love when people use big words. “Shut up, Frank.” “Ooooh-kay. Why don’t you guys sit down?” “Where?” “Well, there’s room for someone to sit next to Brittany, and there’s a chair over there…somewhere.” Frank sat next to me. Oh God. “Nice shirt.” “Uh, thanks.” He’s talking to me?! “What other bands do you like?” “I like Leathermouth, Slipknot, 30 Seconds To Mars, The Misfits, stuff like that.” “I like those bands too.” “Frank, did you know that Brittany loves you?” “I do not! You are such a liar!” I felt my face turning red. I can’t believe Rachel said that! “Well, you know, Frank has told me that he thinks you’re cute. Wait, he didn’t say you were cute, he said you were-” “Mikey! Shut UP!” He’s gotta be lying. No one has ever liked me, or even said I’m cute. Frank’s face became bright red. “Aww, look Mikey, they’re both blushing!” “Rachel, if you say one more thing I will strangle you.” “No you won’t, you need me to be the maid of honor at your upcoming wedding.” “Rachel, I believe you’ve told me on numerous occasions that you would love to marry Bob.” “I never said that!” “Deny it all you want, that doesn’t make it go away.” “Fine! I’ll admit to that if you admit that you love Frank.” “But I don’t.” “Okay, she won’t admit it so I’ll do it for her. I, Brittany Emily Stevens, now de--” “OKAY! I’ll admit it. I do like Frank.” “Like?!? More like love.” “Fine! I love Frank.” He must think I’m crazy. “Haha, Frank loves you too!” “Mikey, did I ever tell you that you need to keep your mouth shut?” “Yeah, plenty of times.” “Well, I’d like you to do that now.” “See, Brit? He likes you back!” I looked over at him and he just was looking at his feet. This is insane. He can’t like me. All the boys like Rachel. I’m just her ugly friend. She has beautiful, long dark brown hair, which she doesn’t even have to straighten, and a nice body. I’ve got long, black hair that I straighten every morning and I’m just nothing special. As my father’s told me before, No boy will ever like me because I am an ugly bXtch. “I bet he doesn’t like me, because no one has ever liked me. I’m just a loser.” “No you’re not.” “-cough-Frank loves Brittany-cough-” “Mikey, shut up.” He seems sincere, but they always do. Then the next day they act as if they never knew me.
