i know this part makes it all weird. sorreh.
Weird thing was, Emily actually did feel better about it after that. It was strange. “Hey, I wanna see your room.” Without waiting for her answer, his face showed that sly smile and he was heading towards the stairs. She hopped up, walking quickly to catch up. By the time she had reached her room, he was already looking at pictures on the walls. Pictures she had drawn herself. “Oooh, these are awesome. You draw them?” Sonny turned to look at her, and she nodded shyly. He continued to look around, so she sat on her bed, turning on music. It was a loud song, but she couldn’t remember the name of it. “Your room is cool,” he told her, sitting next to her. “Thanks.” Though music was playing, it seemed eerily quiet. Emily looked up at him, and as soon as he smiled, she blushed. “Y’know, you don’t have to be so shy. I’ve already made up my mind about you, so I won’t, like, tease you or anything.” Now she giggled again. “I’ve made up my mind about you too.” Wow. That was painfully obvious. She made absolutely no eye contact when she said that, all she did was look at her hands in her lap. Suddenly, Emily felt two of his fingers touch her chin and push her head upwards slightly. She looked into his eyes, immediately forgetting about everything else. It was as if he was the only thing there. His lips pressed against hers, her heart beating faster. She had never expected Sonny to like her. There were so many other girls in the school, so many prettier ones. Everyone always liked them. Yet he was here, and he really was kissing her. Their lips locked as the kiss drew their bodies closer, Sonny’s hands moving to her lower back and hers moving to his neck. Yes, this was her first kiss, and she was glad he was the boy. With him, everything just felt right, like she didn’t have to try and impress him. He would like her for her, no matter what. Sure, they had just met, but it was already obvious. His hands on her back sent chills up her spine. Her heart was still beating fast and their lips were still pressed together. It all felt like a dream. “Ahem.” Someone in the doorway cleared their throat, startling the two. Their lips parted, both looking in the direction the noise came from. There was Aiden, grinning amusedly while leaning against the doorframe. Emily pulled her hands away from Sonny’s neck as he pulled his hands away from her back. They both blushed, their faces red, though hers more than his. “I knew that you guys just wanted some privacy. All you had to do was say so. Closing the door would help too.” And he walked away, closing the door behind him. Wow. How embarrassing. Neither of them said anything. Emily half expected him to just get up and leave, never to speak to her again. Well, she hadn’t expected this to happen either, so anything was possible. Sonny’s hand touched hers, enclosing it in his. Again, she felt chills up her spine. No matter how long they would know each other, she figured that would happen. Well, until she stopped liking him. Then it wouldn’t happen. Her head reluctantly looked up at him. He gave her a soft smile as he rubbed his thumb against the back of her hand. It made her kind of forget about what just happened. Emily didn’t think it was such a big deal now. It didn’t bother him, so why should it bother her? She rested her head on his shoulder, feeling his lips kiss the top of her head quickly. How had this all happened so quickly though? They hadn’t even known each other a day. Maybe he was just using her. That would just ruin the poor girl. She fell fast and hard. If this was nothing, then…hello, depression. “You know, you really stuck out when I walked into class. I thought you would just ignore me and we’d never talk. You seemed like the girl that has all the friends and all the guys all over her. You’re…you’re gorgeous.” That was the first time anyone had ever called her gorgeous. Ever. And he had seemed a bit shy about saying it. Obviously, if he was shy, that meant he really meant it. It made her blush. Wow, he was good at saying things that made her blush. He was good at flattering her. It always worked. “You’ll find someone else though. Everyone does.” “What makes you say that?” He highly doubted he would find anyone else. To him, she was perfect. No one else at school seemed worth his time. “No one has ever liked me for very long. Someone else catches their eye, and they forget all about me. That’s why I’ve never even had a boyfriend.” Oh, how embarrassing. He would probably really not like her now. “Well, then I guess I’ll be the first to have sense enough to not let go of you. Not being able to hang out with you would kill me now that I know how cool you are.” And with that, Sonny’s phone started ringing. Their hands no longer touched, and Emily felt as if her hand was too empty. Like it was missing something, which was odd. “Hello…I’m at a friend’s house…What time is it?…Already?…Fine, I’ll be home in a bit.” And his phone snapped shut. He looked at her with a semi-disappointed look on his face. “My mom wants me home. It‘s 4:30 already.” “Noooo.” She hugged his arm, burying her face into his shoulder. Probably the most outgoing thing she had done within the past fifteen minutes. He moved his arms so he was hugging her as he laughed a little. “Aww, I’ll call you. Or you can call me. How about that?” “I like that idea. It sounds good.” The hug broke off, and Emily grabbed her phone and put it in his hands. He laughed again as he typed his number in. “There. Call me when you feel lonely or anything.” She nodded her head, smiling shyly. Now he had to leave though. This made her sad. They both stood up, and he grabbed her hand once again. That was how they walked down the stairs, just enjoying being with each other. Finally, at the door, was when they spoke. “We’ll see each other tomorrow at school. I’ll look for you, Em.” Emily smiled shyly, nodding. “Okay. Good.” “Bye.” She figured that was it. Of course not. His arms moved to her waist, and he pulled her closer. Then he planted a soft kiss on her lips, and she returned the favor. It was over too soon though. Emily didn’t want it to end at all. They both smiled, and she actually wasn’t blushing. “Bye,” she said, pouting a little. The girl stood there as he walked down her driveway.
