My POV
As we drove down the long, abandon road to New Jersey, we were more than happy to be away from hell and its inhabitants. I looked away from the road over at Beth, who was enjoying the music in the CD player. We had listened to My Chemical Romance for most of our trip. We were planning to surprise Gerard Way for his 30th birthday. This had been our dream ever since we've known My Chemical Romance existed. And now since we were actually out of school now, we could finally do whatever we wanted. We were both 23, but we left a few days before my birthday so we could make it to see Gerard in time. All of a sudden, I ran over a sharp object in the road, causing a blow out and me to lose control of the car.
We could feel the car flip over a near bridge barrier, and land in a low ditch. I saw a flame slowly start to spread, through my blurred vision. "What the hell?" I said looking over at Beth. "Holy fuck! I smell gas!" She said with her arms dangling over her head. We tried to get out but it was totally useless. I tried to open the door, but couldn't move with the steering wheel pinned down on my chest. I looked over at Beth once again. Her right leg was stuck under the dashboard. We started to hear screaming outside the car and it sounded like it was coming closer.Within a few seconds the passenger door opened and revealed Mikey Way. He started to try to get Beth's leg out from under the dash. No sooner had that happened, my door creaked open, and I felt pressure on the steering wheel as if someone was trying to lift it up off of me. Blood was rushing rapidly to my head and my vision started to blur again, but I still managed to make out Gerard's face. I felt embarrassed about meeting him in this position, but I didn't have time to think about that at the moment. Mikey finally managed to get Beth free and over to a safe distance by the tour bus.
(My friend wrote the following part)
Ray handed Gerard a wrench and ran back to the bus. Gerard removed the wheel and help me out of the burning car. We started to run like hell, when all of a sudden the car blew up. We both went flying to the ground. Gerard wrapped his arms around my waist when we hit the ground and kept rolling, so we didn't get hurt as much. He ended up on top of me and I had a new bruise on my arm.
(Back to where I started writing again)
"Omg! My car!" I screamed, still on the ground, in Gerard's arms. "I wasn't even done with the payments!"
"I just saved your life and you're worried about the car?" Gerard asked in a teasing but also a serious tone. We walked over to where Beth and Mikey was. Beth and I were both a bit shaky. First of all, from our near death experience. And second of all, from actually getting saved by Gerard and Mikey Way.
"Well so much for that car." Beth said as we watched the remains burn.
"Oh my gosh people! Are we just gonna stand here and watch my car burn? How are we gonna get back home?" I asked.
"You two can always ride with us." Mikey kindly offered, leading us into the bus. I looked over at Beth to see if it was okay, but I knew it was more than okay.
